THAI WDDING PACKAGE

This full ceremony, which involves the chanting and blessing by Buddhist Monks. This will normally take place at a suitable time of your choice in the morning (Time should be good during 08.00am -11.00am) Location on varied, grand ball room, in the garden or even around the pool area nearby the beach.

The marriage certificate and legal arrangements are not included and must be arranged directed by the client at the Embassy in Bangkok and district office (where applicable)

 

CEREMONY INCLUDES

• Long drum parade
The wedding begins once the groom, accompanied by the celebrant, leads the colorful "Long Drum Parade" to where the vows will take place. At the entrance, two friends or relatives of the bride are holding a golden ribbon to block the way. After giving them a symbolic token, the groom gets to enter the venue.

 

• Engagement ceremony
The celebrant then addresses the bride’s family and guests. The bride enters the venue and the engagement begins. Gifts of either envelope containing money, or presents that have been placed in a basket beforehand are now checked by the bride’s mother or relative. Once all is agreed the groom presents the engagement ring to the bride.

 

• Buddhist ceremony
Invited Monks chant prayers of health, happiness and prosperity for the wedding couples’ marriage. In return, the couple presents the monks with alms and food.

 

• Watering ceremony
The bride and groom then kneel together, and a holy string is draped from one person’s head to the other, forming a circle and connecting the couple. This symbolizes their spiritual union. Flower garlands are presented and powder is placed on the forehead. They then "Wai" by clasping their palms together in the traditional prayer-like gesture while one by one the guests pour a conch shell full of sacred water over the couple's hands while saying a blessing for good luck.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY:

•          A 50% deposit charge of the wedding package including optional services is required upon confirmation of the booking.

•          Balance amount shall be paid one week before the Wedding Date.

•          Cancellation received 01 – 30 days prior to the wedding date is subject to a 50% charge of both the wedding package and optional service prices.

 

 

Legal Procedures for Wedding Certification in Thailand

 

For your marriage to be registered certain procedures need to be followed by the bride and groom. Please contact us for further information or if you require assistance.

Guests are recommended to contact their Embassy for further information.

Below you will find the steps to follow for having the wedding validated by the Authorities in Thailand and recognized abroad:

 

Step 1

Issue the certificate Letter for bride and groom from the respective Embassy of your country in Thailand (in English Language).

Step 2

The Certificate Letter for bride and groom issued in English language by the embassies, have to be translated into Thai language by any Law office in Bangkok.

Step 3

The original of the documents from point 1 and 2 must be validated and stamped (on every page) by the Ministry of Foreign Affair in Bangkok.

 

Note:

The valid passports of bride and groom must be shown for steps 1, 2 and 3.

To complete the above, you may plan 3 working days in Bangkok (please take into consideration the Thailand’s Public Holidays). It is strongly recommended to make appointments with the Authorities in order to have the documents issued on time.

Step 4

Once in Samui, the documents will be give to Nathon City Hall a few days prior to the wedding (according to check-in date) for issuing the Wedding certificate. (in Thai language). The authorities come to the hotel for signing the documents after the edding ceremony at the hotel.

 

Please note that hotel is not responsible for completing the steps from 1 to 4; the bride and groom are the sole responsible for issuing the correct documents.

 

Step 1 to 4 are not required if the bride and groom do not need any legal paper for certifying their wedding.
